DO I NEED THIS UPDATE? If you purchased a 2010 Map Update card for your PC*MILER Navigator 440 or 540 before November 18th, 2010, then yes, you should download and apply this update. If you purchased a 2010 Map Update card on or after November 18th, 2010, you DO NOT NEED THIS UPDATE. I'M NOT SURE WHEN I PURCHASED MY UPDATE DISK. IS THERE ANOTHER WAY TO CHECK? Yes, you can check the version number of your data files. To do so, start up Copilot, then go to Menu > Settings > About Copilot. If you have this number - ALK.NA.2010.01.4.1.8.1.4.6, then you need to apply the update. If you have this number - ALK.NA.2010.01.4.1.8.1.4.7, then you DO NOT need to apply the update. We've provided screenshots below for reference.
WHAT IF I DIDN'T PURCHASE THE 2010 MAPS, CAN I STILL DOWNLOAD THIS UPDATE? It's possible that your device came with the 2010 map data, but still needs the update. You will need to check the version number on your device. To do so, start up Copilot, then go to Menu > Settings > About Copilot. If you have this number - ALK.NA.2010.01.4.1.8.1.4.6, then you need to apply the update. If you have this number - ALK.NA.2010.01.4.1.8.1.4.7, then you don't need to apply the update. We've provided screenshots below for reference. WHAT IF I HAVE 2009 MAPS? Do not apply this update. This update is incompatible with the 2009 maps. I CHECKED MY NUMBERS AND I DO NEED THE UPDATE. WHAT DO I DO? First, you're going to need some way for your computer to read and write SD cards. Many laptops already have an SD reader built-in, and so do many newer desktop computers. If your computer doesn't have an SD reader, you can go to a computer electronics store and purchase an SD card reader that will plug into one of your computer's USB ports. Once you've got an SD reader all set up, read on for the rest of the instructions. |
